Christine Bryan

Director of Sales

The gift Industry is in my heart and soul.

After graduating from the University of Iowa in English and Art History, I returned home to the New York Metro area. Here, I was enticed to join a new start-up paper and publishing company as its Sales Manager; growing the business for 5 years with a hand in production, product development and marketing. I then worked for two other paper and social expression brands, the last of which was a large, worldwide Greeting Card manufacturer for whom I was VP of Sales for 11 years.

In 2012, I had the opportunity to make a move from the Vendor side to Sales Management of my rep group in the Mid-Atlantic. Training and mentoring reps on my brand and how to maximize sales within their larger line package had always been my passion. So the chance to work with a rep group directly was my perfect next step. 2016 brought the opportunity for me to become part of the larger, growing Harper Group.

I continue to directly manage the Mid-Atlantic team as well as being the Brand Manager for many of our Publishers and Paper and Gift brands across all of our regions.

In my free time, my passions are travel, theater and the arts and cooking.

Scott Harper

President and CEO

It’s hard to believe that Harper Group was founded over 20 years ago. Starting the company together with my mother, we’ve grown from a small agency in the Metro NY area to the significant reach we have today. I’ve had the great opportunity to grow up in the industry with a unique perspective on how it continues to evolve.

Bringing outside experience from the technology and oil industries, I’ve had the opportunity to manage and grow companies my entire career. But the chance to lead Harper Group now and into the future is certainly the greatest highlight for me. We have one of the best groups of people in the industry, and I’m proud to have the chance to work with each and every one of them every day.

In my role as President and CEO, I oversee all of our business operations and set the strategic direction for Harper Group. In a constantly changing retail environment, my primary goal is to keep our group at the forefront of innovation and technology as we strive to constantly improve and continue to grow.
I hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Jeff Harper

Director of Sales

I joined Harper Group full time in 2004. Previous to Harper Group, I worked in almost every aspect of retail; from my family’s small retail store in Connecticut, to sales and corporate merchandising in the fashion industry.

Since joining Harper Group, I have worked in many capacities leading to my current role as Director of Sales where I am able to work directly with our amazing sales team as well as manage the business with our national accounts. The industry is ever- changing and the amazing entrepreneurial spirit of our retailers and manufacturers keeps me inspired every day.

In my leisure time, I enjoy travel, skiing and playing tennis with my amazing family.

Steve Sherman

Director of Finance

I am Harper Group's Director of Finance and have been with the company since 2007. I manage the company’s budgets and finances and provide input on the strategic direction of the company as part of the management team.| Prior to joining Harper Group, I gained my expertise in finance roles at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Philp Morris USA, CIGNA Healthcare, and WestLB.

I earned my BA in Accounting at Villanova University and my MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters.

Alex Silva de Balboa

Director of Business Development and Technology

I bring more than 16 years of experience as an innovator, strategic thinker, problem solver and project manager from a diverse set of industries including financial services, hospitality, retail, supply chain distribution and fast-growing technology start-ups. As a prior management consultant and executive, I am often called upon to lead organizations through change by developing new strategies, driving innovation, managing cross-functional initiatives, and deploying new technologies while building collaboration and engagement with stakeholders. In my role at the Harper Group, I oversee several areas including business development, corporate development, strategic planning, marketing, and technology.

I hold a BA in Economics from Fordham University and an MBA in Finance from Georgetown University.

In my free time I practice yoga with my wife and coach youth flag football for my two sons. I am also a former tennis pro and avid player.
